The BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo replaces the 5 GT, offering all the gadgetry and tech from the latest 7 Series in a practical hatchback body

CAR magazine • 12 October 2017

There’s much to recommend a 6GT: it’s better equipped, more comfortable, more spacious, and even has a larger luggage capacity than a 5-series Touring. But it lacks that crucial sense of desirability, and disappoints on a twisty road. Us? We’ll take a 5-series Touring with a very nice spec.

The new BMW 6 Series GT blends the dynamics of the 5 Series with the space of the 7 Series, but what's it like to drive?

BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe (2015 - ) review • 7 April 2017

The 6 Series, dynamically at least, is designed to do a very specific job, and that’s to belt up and down motorways quickly and comfortably, not to blast along B-roads at breakneck speeds. So long as you remember that, you’ll love the big Beemer. It looks great, it’s comfortable and refined, it has a luxurious, technology-filled interior, and it’s practical enough to ferry around your business colleagues and their briefcases. It’s a car you find yourself respecting rather than loving, but for many drivers, that won’t matter a jot.

BMW 6 Series Convertible (2015 - ) review • 3 March 2017

The 6 Series Convertible, dynamically at least, is designed to do a very specific job, and that’s to belt up and down motorways quickly and comfortably, not to blast along B-roads at breakneck speeds. So long as you remember that, you’ll love the big Beemer. It looks great, it’s comfortable and refined (even with the roof down), it has a luxurious, technology-filled interior, and it’s practical enough for weekend trips. It’s a car you find yourself respecting rather than loving, but for many drivers, that won’t matter a jot.
