Alfa Romeo Junior är en liten SUV som lockar mest med utseendet. Designen sticker ut i mängden av likformiga småbilar, men under skalet är det en helt vanlig Stellantis-produkt som delar teknik med Peugeot 2008 och Opel Mokka. Den finns som mildhybrid på bensin och som ren elbil. Helhetsintrycket är splittrat: skarp att titta på, men interiören känns billig och bilen är inte den körglädjemaskin namnet antyder.

Passar dig som vill ha en kompakt och snygg elbil eller mildhybrid till stan och pendling, och som värderar formen högt. Den passar sämre dig som vill ha en riktig körglädjebil i Alfa-anda, eller dig som ofta har vuxna i baksätet eller behöver maximal räckvidd. Letar du efter sportig körkänsla finns roligare alternativ, och vill du ha mer plats eller längre räckvidd finns rymligare elbilar för pengarna.

Decent fun to drive without being uncomfortable. 156 models are fine value with strong levels of kit. Driving range is one of the longest.

The Alfa Romeo Junior Ibrida is an average small SUV. You could argue that it looks rather sharp and stylish – premium, even – but there’s not a lot of substance beneath to match. The driving experience is a mixed bag in that it’s comfortable but not very fun to drive, and interior quality is barely a cut above cheaper rivals. Consider a Ford Puma if you want something sporty to drive, or the Lexus LBX if luxury is high on your wish list. If you’re set on an Ibrada, we’d stick to the entry-level version to keep the price reasonable.

The Alfa Romeo Junior Elettrica is decent to drive, while the range-topping Veloce version is genuinely engaging. It’s just a shame that the Veloce is so pricey, especially next to the closely related Abarth 600e and Vauxhall Mokka GSE. We’d stick to the already-quite-expensive, entry-level Elettrica instead. Other negatives include its poor rear-passenger space and patchy interior quality. In short, competitors like the Kia EV3 make more sense.
