Polestar 1
Av Steve Huntingford · 22 november 2019
On the one hand, Polestar should be applauded for making its first car a genuine alternative to conventional, big-engined petrol GTs. It’s not the quickest car in the class but it's unlikely you’ll want for more performance, and its hybrid system means that it can be surprisingly cheap to run. Sure, some will find its ride is a bit too firm, but that's rewarded by decent, if not class-leading, handling. Its practicality isn't great, though, and its Volvo S90 interior isn't inspiring next to a BMW 8 Series' or Lexus LS's, which would be fine if it didn't cost far more than the faster, quicker Porsche Panamera 4S E-hybrid that is pretty much as environmentally friendly. As a result, it's really just for those looking to be different.
